Sempervivum arachnoideum 'Minor'
Sempervivum arachnoideum 'Minor' is a tiny, webbed form of hen and chicks. Rosettes top out around ½" wide and offset slowly into a tight, lumpy cluster. The webbing is made of trichomes—tiny hairs—that naturally form a spiderweb across the growing point. Some researchers suggest it may help protect the plant from excess sun or cold by diffusing light and trapping air, though its exact purpose isn’t fully understood.
This particular clone is extra small and compact, with round, bead-like rosettes that blush red in cool weather and often hold their color into summer. Excellent for detail work in miniature gardens or crevice plantings. Slow growing, but very charming once established.
