Mammillaria schiedeana
A small, clustering cactus from central Mexico, Mammillaria schiedeana forms tight mounds of spherical stems covered in fine, golden-white spines that give the plant a soft, lacy appearance. Each stem stays under 3 inches wide, with delicate white or pale yellow flowers that ring the crown in winter or early spring.
Native to limestone hillsides, it prefers bright light and excellent drainage. Water deeply during active growth and let dry fully between waterings. Keep mostly dry in winter. Hardy to around 25°F if kept dry.
This species stays compact, pups readily, and is ideal for small containers, rock gardens, or collectors looking for soft-textured, easy-to-grow Mammillarias.
