Huernia zebrina v. zebrina f. variegata - Life Saver Plant
This is the variegated form of Huernia zebrina, often called the “Lifesaver Plant” for its unusual flowers with a thick, rubbery red ring in the center. Stems are green to yellow with irregular variegation, and they may blush pink under bright light. Growth is low and spreading, with soft teeth along the angled stems.
Flowers appear near the base in summer to fall. Each bloom has striped yellow lobes and a glossy red center that looks almost artificial. The variegated form tends to grow a bit slower and stays more compact.
Prefers bright filtered light and fast-draining soil. Water when the soil is dry, and keep mostly dry in winter.
