Cotyledon
Cotyledon is a small genus of the Crassulaceae family, widely distributed throughout Africa and particularly diverse in stem and leaf forms due to hybridization. These succulents have thick, fleshy leaves that come in various shapes, such as spoon-shaped, finger-like, and tubular, often featuring round-chubby or elongated textures. Cotyledon flowers are tubular and bloom in vibrant clusters of pink, orange, or yellow. They are easy to propagate from stem cuttings and are fairly low-maintenance in their care needs. Historically, Cotyledon served as a 'catch-all' genus for species with tubular flowers and fused petals, however other genera such as Sedum and Crassula have now been split off. Predominantly found in Southern Africa, they also grow in drier regions up to the Arabian Peninsula.
