Astrophytums are a tropical cactus native to a very small range in Texas and Mexico. Asterias grows as a squat disc, each covered in a unique pattern of dots. Kikko is a specially selected attribute where the ribs are split into tubercles. Lizard skin is an extra rare attribute of wrinkly skin and uneven bumpy shape. Cristata is another rare mutation where the plant grows along a line instead of the usual point at the top.
